Anthracnose on sycamore

A number of fungi cause anthracnose which can affect several tree species in Kansas. On this sycamore you see the brown irregular spots along the leaf veins. This disease occurs in cooler weather and when the temperatures increase these leaves will drop. This is mainly a cosmetic problem unless too many leaves are affected and drop. This can cause extra stress for the tree making the tree more susceptible to other diseases and/or insect damage.
